Pre-owned Cartier Must 21 Chronoscaph ref 2424 (2003) is a curious piece of the French Maison's history developed around the same time as the infamous Quartz Crisis of the 1970s, which threatened to topple the Swiss watchmaking industry. During that time, quartz-powered watches dominated the market, and most of the top brands were expanding their portfolios to keep up with the trend. The Cartier Must 21 was a product of that era, featuring a fresh and contemporary aesthetic and a reliable Quartz movement. Ref. 2424 also features chronograph functionality, hence the fascinating name "Chronoscaph." It boasts all the usual chronograph amenities, such as pushers above and below the crown and a tri-compax dial, without forsaking the unmistakable Cartier design language.
