Pre-owned Cartier Tank Francaise ref 3217 (2015) is one of the most recognizable shapes in watchmaking, featuring a rectangular case flanked by long brancards that extend outwards to form the lugs and a matching integrated bracelet. Cartier recently redesigned the Francaise, giving the watch a sleeker appearance and building the iconic blue spinel crown further into the case. The example you see here is the model before it was upgraded. It has that nostalgic aesthetic made famous by the likes of Princess Diana and Kate Moss that many passionate collectors are searching for. Of course, ref. 3217 is also instantly recognizable as a coveted Cartier wristwatch because it also sports the French Maison's signature Roman numeral dial and sword-shaped hands.
