Description: Rolex Air-King 5500
Pre-owned Rolex Air-King ref 5500 (1971) is the perfect entry-level watch for beginner collectors or those interested in expanding their collections without breaking the bank. The watch is understated and timeless - ideal for one-and-done watch enthusiasts. It also boasts a profound history, with roots dating to the 1940s and the British Royal Air Force. It was initially a part of the Air Series and remains the only model still in production today. However, ref. 5500 looks vastly different than the current generation, featuring a design set that is more on par with other dress watches, like the time-only Oyster Perpetual. This model, circa 1971, has a handsome silver dial decorated with Tritium, older-style acrylic, and a self-winding mechanical movement.
